Welcome to the new face of your beloved Gaetano's Pharmacy!

We want to tell you a little bit about Spartan Pharmacy, and let you know why we think that you will be excited to learn what is in the future for your pharmacy experience. First, what is not changing: the employees. All of the faces that you have grown to love, respect, and enjoy seeing are not going anywhere – and that includes Sal. The very first thing that we at Spartan Pharmacy noticed when we stood in Gaetano's Pharmacy was how similar the interactions were between its employees and customers and those that take place in our pharmacies. Nothing is more satisfying than when a customer asks for you by name because they know that you will be able to take care of them.

What we are going to change most dramatically is something that hopefully you will not even notice directly. We believe in empowering our employees through improved technology and information. To compete with the chains, you must do things better, and more efficiently than them. It's not hard to do. You will notice the new registers that are intended to offer you more options for payment, and expedite your trip by eliminating paperwork and repetition. Our new computer systems are second to none. While our pharmacists are filling your prescriptions they have pharmacy information and drug interaction information at their fingertips. New thermal labels eliminate waste and improve efficiency.

Now, a little bit about our company...

Spartan Pharmacy was formed 5 years ago by Adam Rice and Kevin McCaffrey, two classmates in the University of Pittsburgh's School of Pharmacy. Adam grew up in Brentwood and watched 3 independent pharmacies close over the course of his life. Upon graduating, the two formed Spartan Pharmacy, named for the local high school mascot. Their intention was to convey the message that this pharmacy was part of the very community that it serves. It worked! In June of 2007, Spartan Pharmacy opened it's second pharmacy located at the intersection of Kings School Road and Route 88.

Spartan Pharmacy does not advertise; instead we prefer to give back to the community through sponsorships of local groups. Over the past year we have sponsored local soccer, baseball, football, lacrosse, hockey, and swim teams, as well as high school theater, yearbooks and church bulletins. Our desire is for the community to realize that there truly is a commitment from our company to give back to those families that choose to patronize our business. We hope that you child is on one of the teams that we sponsor.

This is just the beginning of our relationship with you, but we hope that you allow us an opportunity to serve you. No one can replace Sal, and we don't intend to. We like to think that we will be able to improve an already great experience at your pharmacy.
